frequently asked questions

What is your fee?

I currently charge a flat rate of $175 for a one hour individual therapy session, and $200 for couples and families. If you wish to schedule a longer appointment it will be prorated to the time scheduled. I do keep a limited number of sliding scale appointments available for clients dealing with economic hardship.

Do you accept insurance?

I am currently in-network with Aetna, Optum and Oscar Insurance. If you are not a member of these providers, I can give you a super-bill for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. I also work with companies that can help clients check their out of network benefits and get reimbursed for therapy services. Typically these companies will charge a small flat fee or a portion of your reimbursement.

How long will I be in therapy?

This can depend of many factors, including the complexity of the work, diagnosis and history. For many clients six months to one year is typical, however many clients choose to stay longer to work through deeper issues.

I am not currently in a crisis or dealing with “severe” mental health problems, I just want someone to talk to. Am I a good fit for therapy?

Yes! This is actually a great time to seek therapy, because you will be able to address deeper issues and affect long-term change. I firmly believe that everyone can benefit from therapy at any time in their lives. Although the stigma around therapy and mental health continues to fade, many still seek out help when they have reached the crisis point. By seeking out help early, not only are you taking control of your health, but you will learn coping skills that can prevent you from going into crisis.
